Torsten Hunke (Attorney‑at‑Law) has been Managing Director of VanEck (Europe) GmbH in Frankfurt since 2014. As Head of Legal & Compliance he steers the regulatory and strategic support for all of the firm’s European activities. Under his leadership the company secured its BaFin licence under MiFID II and built one of Europe’s first crypto‑ETN platforms.

With more than 25 years’ experience in investment law and banking supervision—gained at Deutsche Bank, Linklaters and Credit Suisse, among others—he blends deep expertise with a pioneering spirit for the digital transformation of capital markets. He is also Managing Director of Market Vector Indexes GmbH, VanEck ETP AG and SegMint GmbH, whose businesses range from crypto ETNs and NFT minting to index administration under the Benchmark Regulation.

Hunke studied law at the Universities of Hannover and Le Havre and is a member of the Frankfurt Bar Association. At conferences on tokenisation and digital product development he addresses the intersection of regulation, technology and investor protection—and explains how ETFs can be turned into tradable on‑chain assets.
