As Director of Digital Assets and Tokenization, Mark is responsible for shaping and executing the firm’s digital asset and tokenization strategy across investment, operational, and client-facing use cases. His remit spans technology architecture, governance, risk alignment, and platform enablement—ensuring emerging blockchain-based capabilities are deployed securely, responsibly, and at institutional scale.

Mark’s team works closely with business, technology, legal, and risk partners to move innovation from concept to production, while providing strategic guidance and education on the implications of digital assets and tokenization for global financial markets and the firm’s clients.

Prior to his current role, Mark served as Director of the Trading Data and Analytics team, where he helped shape the firm’s strategic vision for electronic trading, market structure analysis, and execution research across all asset classes globally. In that role, he worked closely with investment teams, technology, and risk partners to translate data, market structure insight, and emerging technologies into scalable, production-ready capabilities—experience that now directly informs his approach to digital assets and tokenization.

Before joining Wellington Management in 2019, Mark spent five years as Senior Trading and Market Structure Analyst at MFS Investment Management, developing deep expertise in market microstructure, regulation, and the evolving mechanics of global trading venues. Earlier in his career, he worked as an institutional trader, proprietary market maker, and quantitative research analyst, providing him with a practitioner’s perspective across the full trade lifecycle—from strategy design and execution to liquidity provision and risk management.

This combination of hands-on trading experience, quantitative research, and enterprise technology leadership underpins Mark’s ability to evaluate, govern, and deploy new market and blockchain-based innovations responsibly at institutional scale.

Mark earned a Master of Science in Finance, with high distinction, from Bentley University (2009), and a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Markets from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (2002). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
