Ciarán McGonagle is a capital markets adviser specialising in the intersection of law, financial markets and technology.

He is the founder of McGonagle Advisory, where he advises financial institutions, market infrastructure providers and technology firms on AI, computable contracts, derivatives standards, digital assets and next-generation market infrastructure.

Ciarán previously held senior roles at ISDA, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Tokenovate. At ISDA, he helped lead the development of industry standards for smart derivatives contracts, digital assets and the Common Domain Model (CDM). His work has since focused on translating complex legal and market structures into executable workflows, products and infrastructure.

He has been recognised in The Lawyer Hot 100 and has published extensively on smart contracts, digital assets and computational law, including in the MIT Computational Law Report and the Journal of International Banking and Financial Law.

Ciarán also chairs the FINOS CDM Tokenization Working Group and serves on the LexisNexis Banking and Finance Consulting Editorial Board.
